The death of George Floyd by a while police officer in Minneapolis more than twelve days ago in the most brutal and inhuman manner, who has been now charged with a second degree murder and the two other police officers who did not react to this action has also been charged as accessory to the murder. The video that captured this murder with his words “I can’t breath” started in almost all the states in USA and in many countries all over the world. Hundreds of thousands of people of all ages, race and color have been protesting for more than twelve days in his support and against the racism and bigotry that is practiced by the people in power against people of different race and color.
His death, though a sad moment for the family that will always be a sad occasion, has become a symbol of hope for ending this kind of injustice and people all over the world who have been suffering and enduring pain can at least see his face as a light at the end of a tunnel of hate ignited by the racist minded people.
It is heartening to note that Governors in some states have started the process of introducing some kind of legislation to stop the police officers acting in such a manner as to cause death to a “suspect” of any color or race. Every citizen in any country has the right for a trial for any criminal act, committed or in the process of being committed, under the due process. Using force on unarmed suspect should be treated as crime and the police officer/s should be suspended immediately and arrested and charged without undue delay, if a video is made available on the social media.
The news item of the protest will vanish from the youtube or yahoo news after a few days, and I want this to be available for all time so I am pasting the link as George Floyd
